The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has started this week the second phase of actions in the cultural centers of the municipality, an ambitious project that includes improvement and refurbishment works in nine facilities spread throughout the municipality.
The first interventions have begun in the Cultural Center of La Asomada, where works are being carried out focused on the improvement of the bathrooms, with the aim of ensuring accessibility for all users. Next, the works will continue in other centers such as those of Tefía and Ampuyenta, addressing reforms that include the replacement of doors and windows, structural and accessibility improvements, among other actions. The total estimated budget for this phase is approximately 200,000 euros.
The mayor of Puerto del Rosario, David de Vera, highlighted the importance of this initiative: “these actions not only respond to a real need of our cultural centers, but reflect the commitment of the government group with the continuous improvement of community spaces, which are essential for neighborhood cohesion and cultural development of our towns”.
For her part, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Jenifer Pérez, stressed the participatory nature of the project: “these improvements are being designed and implemented hand in hand with neighborhood associations, which allows each action to respond directly to the demands and priorities expressed by citizens. We are committed to a culture built from the bottom up, with spaces that are dignified and accessible to all”.
The Councilor for Contracting, Maria Franco, valued the technical and administrative effort that is assuming for the contracting department to work in an agile way so that works as important as these for the neighbors are put in place as soon as possible. “The contracting area has worked hard to implement projects such as these, in a timely manner so that the neighbors can have improved facilities and be able to develop the scheduled activities. It is an example of the coordinated work between municipal areas and our will that public resources are translated into concrete improvements for the neighbors”.
The City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to the improvement of cultural infrastructures and the strengthening of the neighborhood and associative fabric of the municipality.
