In Puerto del Rosario, during the morning of May 02, 2025 and after having received notice that in Puerto Lajas Sur, apparently illegal fishing was being carried out; immediately agents of this Local Police moved to the area to verify such acts.
Once on site, it was possible to verify how two people were carrying out illegal fishing activities, using illegal gear – fine trammel net – and they were identified and the catch of more than 50 kg was seized for subsequent delivery to an NGO.
In view of these facts, the corresponding proceedings are being processed for infractions of the Fisheries Law of the Canary Islands Government.
