The Sports Department of the City Council of Tuineje presents a complete sports program that will take place during the week of April 28 to May 4. Once again, grassroots and traditional sports will again be the protagonist in different facilities of the municipality, with competitions in disciplines such as soccer, bola canaria and lucha canaria.
The soccer fields of Gran Tarajal, Tuineje and Las Playitas will be the scene of intense matches in the categories of children, cadet and fry. On Friday, May 2, the day will start with the Children’s 11-a-side match between CD Tamasite and Fuerteklub at 18:00 h in Gran Tarajal, followed by the Cadet match between CD Tamasite and Tetir at 20:00 h at the same venue. The activity will continue on Saturday 3 in the morning with the Alevín team of CD Tamasite “A” playing against Villaverde Norte at 10:00 h.
On the same day, the Tuineje field will host an interesting duel of Football 8 Alevín between UD Tarajalejo and Steaua T., also at 10:00 h, while Las Playitas will host on Saturday at 17:30 h the match of Football 11 Infantil between CD Breñamen “B” and Eurolajares.
The canary ball, one of the most culturally rooted disciplines in the municipality, will have a notable presence this week. On Friday, May 2, several key matches will be played: Menta y Chocolate will face La Placeta (Group B, male relegation) at the Muelle de Gran Tarajal; Los Caliches will play against La Entallada at the Giniginamar ball field; Breñamen will take on Ninguaria at the Hotel Las Playitas (Group A, male relegation); and the expected women’s title match between El Jablito and Pintadera will take place at the Las Playitas wrestling field.
On Saturday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m., the men’s title match between Los Chamajos and El Cotillo will take place, also at the wrestling field of Las Playitas, thus completing a vibrant weekend for the fans of this traditional sport.
In addition, Canarian wrestling returns to the courts with a clash in senior category between Maxorata and Candelaria. This duel, scheduled for Friday, May 2 at 8:30 p.m., will take place at the Tarajalejo Wrestling Field and promises to be one of the highlights of the week.
From the City Council of Tuineje all citizens are invited to participate, encourage local teams and enjoy the sport as an essential part of the social and cultural fabric of the municipality.
