Artisan Bianca Scarpari will celebrate the Premio Insular de Artesanía with Los Gofiones

– The XXXVI Feria Insular de Artesanía is developed as a festival of sales of works and handmade pieces, as well as for the sale in the Mercadillo of Canarian products such as honeys, mojos, oils and traditional sweets.
Master craftswoman Bianca Scarpari always shares a smile, celebrating every day of this Insular Crafts Fair in an edition so special for her for receiving this Sunday, May 4, at 12:30 p.m., the Insular Crafts Award.
Scarpari’s bright and excited look does not hide her humility or her surprise, and confirms it remembering the artisan as she has always been well found in Fuerteventura, and especially in the Island Craft Fair that from the first moment welcomed her with all the affection, and now also gives me this great gift.
The craftswoman has created a school on the island, and as a result of the hard and patient work of her apprentices, a spectacular exhibition is offered in the institutional tent where the result in large fabrics joined, in painstaking designs and seams, dress much of the walls of the enclosure. An exhibition, Scarpari recalls, of Venetian origin, being for more than twenty years, majorera, an exhibition of Quilts presented in Bergamo and where they received the congratulations and admiration of many Italian craftswomen and women who were admired by the result.
This Sunday, May 5, the Insular Crafts Fair makes a small stop in its activity at 12:30 pm to deliver with all due and deserved attentions to Bianca Scarpari, the Insular Crafts Award 2025 from the hands of the Mayor of Antigua, Matias Peña and the president of the Collective Foundation Mafasca, Nereida Brito, accompanied by the president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola Garcia.
A moment to applaud and then celebrate with the music of Los Gofiones and its fifty performers and musicians who offer us the best Canarian folklore this year at the XXXVI Feria Insular de Artesanía.
