The municipality of Tuineje is preparing to experience one of its most anticipated celebrations: the Sacred Heart of Mary Festival in Tarajalejo, which will take place from May 1 to 11 with an extensive program of activities that includes sporting, cultural, religious and musical events for all ages.
The program, which starts this Thursday, May 1 with the exhibition of the winning drawing inspired by Tarajalejo and the proclamation by neighbors of the village, will culminate on Sunday, May 11 with a solemn religious function and the traditional maritime procession.

Among the outstanding activities are the XV Pilgrimage of the Sacred Heart of Mary, popular festivals, workshops, contests, indoor soccer and wrestling tournaments, as well as live music nights with local and regional artists.
The councilman of Youth and Festivities, David Herrera, stressed that “we have designed a program with great affection, where tradition and neighborhood participation are the protagonists. We invite all neighbors and visitors to enjoy these festivities, designed to unite the community and celebrate our roots”.
For her part, the mayor of Tuineje, Candelaria Umpiérrez, pointed out that “the Festival of the Sacred Heart of Mary is a reflection of the spirit and identity of Tarajalejo. From the City Council we want to thank the involvement of all the people and groups that make this celebration possible year after year. These are days to share, enjoy and feel proud of our traditions”.
The Municipality of Tuineje invites all citizens to actively participate in these festivities that consolidate the commitment of the municipality with culture, coexistence and local development.
