The City Council of La Oliva, through the Department of Public Health, managed by Christian Rodriguez, announces the start of the Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Canine Identification Campaign 2025. From April 26 to May 11, will take place this annual initiative, which allows residents of the municipality to comply with current health regulations, thus ensuring the health of their pets through affordable economic conditions.
The objective is to facilitate access to this service in the different localities of the municipality, so that owners can vaccinate their pets without the need to travel a long distance. The campaign is aimed exclusively at dogs whose owners reside in La Oliva and can prove it with the ID card or certificate of residence.
Among the procedures that will be carried out during the campaign are the vaccination against rabies, the implantation of microchip for those animals that do not yet have it, as well as the update of the Municipal Canine Census. The cost of the vaccination and placement of the chip will be 20 euros, while those animals that already have the microchip will only have to pay 5 euros for the rabies vaccine.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, points out the importance of continuing with this municipal initiative because: “it is the responsibility of all residents of the municipality to protect our pets and thus ensure the safety and welfare of the entire community. This measure aims to continue promoting animal welfare in our municipality and consequently put an end to this viral disease.”
For his part, the Councilor for Public Health, Christian Rodriguez, said: “This campaign reflects the real commitment of this City Council with animal welfare. We want to make it easier for all families in the municipality to vaccinate and identify their pets, not only as a legal obligation, but also because we understand that public health and respect for animals is a shared responsibility. To achieve this we will approach each population center so that no one is left out.”
The City Council reminds that it is mandatory to present the animal’s license and avoid waiting until the last day to present the document, in order to speed up the procedure and facilitate the work of the professionals in the area. The complete calendar with dates and places is available in the official notice and in the communication channels of the City Council.
