The City Council of La Oliva presents, through the Department of Culture, led by David Hernandez, with the collaboration of the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development, the cultural agenda of the Book Day Week. From April 21 to 27, the municipality will be filled with various activities that will be developed in order to promote reading and love for books in all ages. Thus, proposals such as the play ‘Panza de Burro’ by the company Deliriumteatro, the workshop Neurocuentos by Javier Bolea or children’s theater ‘Flowers What does nature sound?’ for children from 0 years by the producer Vanboon Productions, are some of the activities that can be enjoyed during this week dedicated to the taste for literature.
Other highlights will be the show ‘Chiquitita de musical ABBA de Corazón Azul’ along with the presentation of the book ‘El noble arte de morir’ by Esteban San Juan. In addition, from the cultural centers of the municipality will be accompanied, this week, with an extensive program of activities such as exhibitions, workshops and writing masterclass, among others.
The mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, says: “The Literary Week is a great opportunity to enjoy literature. The wide cultural proposal offered by the Department of Culture promotes a taste for reading from the earliest ages to the most adults. Therefore, we encourage all residents of the municipality to attend any of the activities to learn, know and continue to promote the literary world among our population.”
For his part, the Councillor for Culture, David Hernandez, said: “The Book Day Week is an opportunity to share enthusiasm for literature, discover new authors, new proposals and see that every day there are more users interested in literature. This event takes place in various cultural spaces such as Corralejo Municipal Auditorium, Corralejo Municipal Library, cultural centers etc. boosting the presence in our public spaces and spreading the culture among our society.”
