The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the area of Commerce, allocates 25,000 euros to boost commercial revitalization in the municipality of Betancuria. This action is possible thanks to a collaboration agreement with the City of Betancuria, signed this week by the councilor of the area, Lolina Negrin, and Mayor Enrique Cerdeña.
According to Lolina Negrín, “one of the key objectives of the Island Corporation is to support all those activities that contribute to the promotion of commercial areas throughout the island, with aid that are articulated within the Strategic Plan of Grants for the Revitalization of the Commercial Sector of Fuerteventura”.
The mayor, Enrique Cerdeña, explained that “the funding is aimed at supporting the project ‘Yo Consumo Betancuria’, which aims to highlight the gastronomic quality of the municipality and promote businesses related to livestock and hospitality, in addition to the revitalization of the Mercadillo de La Peña, which takes place monthly as a reference market in Fuerteventura”.
