Given the activation of the Territorial Insular Emergency Plan of Civil Protection of the Island of Fuerteventura in ALERT situation, from 00:00 hours of April 3, 2025, due to the forecast of high winds and other adverse weather conditions, the City Council of Tuineje has decided to proceed with the closure of all sports and municipal facilities until further notice.
This preventive measure aims to ensure the safety of the population and avoid possible incidents resulting from adverse weather conditions. Citizens are advised to exercise extreme caution and follow the following indications:
- Close doors and windows to prevent wind gusts and possible damage.
- Remove objects from balconies and terraces that may be displaced by the wind.
- Avoid driving in areas with trees, scaffolding or structures that may collapse.
- Limit travel and, if necessary, exercise extreme caution when driving.
- Move away from the coast and maritime areas, avoiding boardwalks and breakwaters.
- Keep informed through the official channels of the City Council and the media.
The Municipality of Tuineje remains in contact with the competent authorities and emergency services to assess the evolution of the situation and take the necessary measures.
