The City Council of Puerto del Rosario has presented at noon this Tuesday, April 1, the new program of workshops for the community in the Multipurpose Center El Charco. The activities will begin on April 7 and are open to citizens of all ages, with proposals such as sewing, painting and memory stimulation.
During the presentation, Mayor Davidde Vera stressed the importance of this initiative: “we continue to bet on a socio-cultural revitalization that reaches every corner of the municipality. With these workshops we not only encourage participation, but we also recover spaces like this multipurpose center, which needed to be filled with life and community activity again.”
For her part, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Jenifer Pérez, detailed the technical aspects of the project: “this is a tender with a duration of three years, plus one extendable, with an annual investment of 75,000 euros. We started in El Charco, but the goal is to expand the activity to all villages and neighborhoods of the municipality, also integrating neighborhood associations and responding to the high demand for activities such as painting, sewing or percussion, so linked to our carnival.”
From the area of Local Development, Councilwoman Erica González, wanted to highlight the social impact of these actions: “we have already seen the success of previous initiatives such as school support, which had an excellent reception in this same center. With this new program, we give continuity and expand the training and leisure offer for our neighbors, also promoting local employment”.
Finally, Fabio Bovy, representative of the company awarded the service, emphasized the team’s experience and commitment: “we have been working for 14 years in the field of active aging and workshops for adults. We have made all our resources available to the City Council from day one, with the aim of starting up as soon as possible and offering useful activities adapted to what the population really needs.”
Registrations are open from today, April 1, through an online form or in person at the Centro Polivalente El Charco, Monday through Friday between 10:00 and 12:00.
