The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has welcomed today, Wednesday, July 9 to the 110 students who will perform for a month and a half their summer internships in the Island Corporation, as well as municipalities, companies and other entities, thanks to the Practical Training Scholarship Program of the Department of Education. As a novelty this year, the internships have been extended to students of blended learning and distance learning, who have access to the scholarships for the first time, in order to equalize on equal terms the different study modalities.
The president of the Island Corporation, Lola Garcia, “has put in value a program that is unique in the Canary Islands, with more than twenty years of experience and has already allowed more than 3,000 people have a first approach to the world of work in this institution and other collaborating entities”. “A program that has an investment of 250,000 euros of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura”.
The Councilor for Education, Adargoma Hernández, thanked the joint work with Human Resources of the Island Corporation, directed by Nuria Cabrera, so that the beneficiaries will start working in the Cabildo, institutions, other entities and companies on July 15. “This is an opportunity for companies to attract talent from the island. In previous editions, many companies have kept the students after doing the internships for a month and a half”. Hernández also thanked the coordinated work of the Education and Youth team with the other areas of the Cabildo where the students will be incorporated.
Also present at the welcoming ceremony were the councilors of the government group Nuria Cabrera, Víctor Alonso, Carlos Rodríguez and Nereida Calero, as well as the councilor of the opposition and spokesman of the PP, Claudio Gutiérrez.
